Rice Lake Wisconsin area is a multi-species fishing destination! Catch premier muskie, outstanding bass, walleye, northern pike, and exceptional crappie and bluegill.
Here’s a few tips to make sure you reel in the fish you are looking for!:
Muskies: Many trophy fish are caught and released on Rice Lake every fishing season; many local anglers will be found throwing baits around the edges of vegetation and around the islands. Today, many people fishing muskies prefer a stiffer rod of 6.5 to 7 feet or longer.
Bluegill: Rice Lake has a great population of bluegill. In the warm waters of the summer months, fisherman have the best luck catching bluegill in waters that are 6 to 15 feet deep. There are many weed beds around the lake that hold these fish all summer long. Worms are most commonly used for bait.
Large mouth Bass: The best time to catch Large-mouth Bass is from early May to late-June and then early September to mid-October. Spinner baits, top water, live bait, plugs, and streamers will attract a Large mouth bass.
Northern Pike: Late spring, summer, and fall are the best times of the year to catch Northern Pike. Daredevils, spinner baits, and streamer flies work well to hook a Northern pike. Use a large shiner or a large sucker minnow in 5-15 feet of water.
Crappie: On the same note as the bluegill, the crappie are plentiful on Rice Lake. Tip a small jig with a wax worm or crappie minnow and you will find crappies suspended 2-6 feet off of the bottom.
Walleye: Walleye can be found in shallow water during the night
